Furaha Education Initiative is a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) with the registration number MC/CBS/95, located in Mbarara city, specifically in the northern division. The organization was established on May 7th, 2020, by Mubiru Benard as an initiative to provide academic information and opportunities to potential learners who were confined to their homes due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

Initially started by Mubiru Benard, Furaha Education Initiative has grown over time as more individuals with expertise in various academic fields joined the team. These fields include engineering, education, vocational education, health sciences, humanities and social sciences, information technology, business, and management sciences. The collective efforts of the team have resulted in benefiting a total of 50 students who have received career guidance on program selection and scholarship opportunities. As a result, these students have been admitted to prestigious academic institutions such as Makerere University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Makerere University Business School, and Kyambogo University.

The organization recently formalized its registration status in March 2023 and has plans to scale up its activities nationwide by upgrading to a Non-Government Organisation. Furaha Education Initiative is committed to expanding its reach to ensure that all potential learners have access to academic opportunities and information, regardless of their location or circumstances.
